TRICHY: S Keerthi Lakshmi, a class nine student of Gandhi Matriculation HSS, Vikramam, Thanjavur received a gold medal from Bharathidasan University's (BDU) vice-chancellor K Meena for scoring 300 beyond 300 from the C programming exam. Though Lakshmi was one of many five students who got gold medals inside the university's unique school university industry tie-up scheme (SUITS), the remainder failed to get full marks of their respective subjects. You use 36,128 students from classes five to nine from 109 schools spread over 22 districts got their university certificates on Thursday in Trichy that's attended by each of the school-level toppers together with their parents and teachers.

SUITS was the brainchild from the director of Bharathidasan University's Institute for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (IECD) K Parthasarathy who may have up to now conceived 15 innovative programmes during the last nine many years of IECD's existence. SUITS was released 4 years ago to offer computer literacy to college students so that once they check out college they might have imbibed the mandatory competitive spirit. Five courses for example computer basics, office automation, programming techniques, C and C programming were imparted in schools. It absolutely was optional for your schools and the university-conceived syllabus was shipped to the themes for any nominal fee of Rs 300 per student. The exams were conducted with the university itself, even though the answer papers were corrected by independent outsourced evaluators.
